About us
Access VetMed (accessvetmed.eu) is a non-profit association established in Brussels in 2002.
We represent the European industry of generic and added-value veterinary medicines. Our mission is to increase ACCESS –Availability, Compliance, Convenience, Efficacy, Safety, and Savings – of veterinary medicines to veterinarians, and farm and companion animal owners.
About the role
Access VetMed is looking to appoint a freelance Technical & Scientific Communications Lead responsible for planning and executing the communication functions within the association.
Reporting directly to the Technical Director, your main responsibilities will be:
- Establish, implement and maintain a communications strategy and plan (internal and external audiences).
- Develop content for internal and external communications ensuring its message is consistent and engaging.
- Support Access VetMed’s advocacy campaigns.
Day-to-day duties
- Proactively and independently monitoring and gathering regulatory, scientific and other business-related information from a variety of external and internal sources. This includes active engagement within the association (board, associate members and technical director) and other stakeholders.
- Generate content and develop communications materials
- Internal communications for board, general managers and associate members, such as:
- Analysis and business impact
- Short stories and summaries
- External communications: website and social media channels, press releases, annual reports, position papers, articles and interviews, among others
- Internal communications for board, general managers and associate members, such as:
- Website and social media channels management
Candidates’ profile
- Education and experience:
- Scientific or industrial background (preferably within the pharmaceutical or life-sciences area), with a flair for communication / journalism
- Most preferable with experience in veterinary or animal health industry
- Additional education or experience in communication or journalism will be a distinctive advantage
- Personal skills: Proactive and independent, curious, flexible, collaborative work-style and service oriented.
- Communication: English full professional proficiency level (both written and oral). Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Competences: Ability to build networks and confidence across a variety of stakeholder groups.
